Benson Community Dog Part 1!

Everyone knows her as The Benson Community Dog. She has no name, no owner. no home, nothing that is HERS. She has roamed the streets of Benson for years.
She’s had liters of puppies and none to this day, do we know what has happened to them. THANK YOU everyone who fed her, watched her from afar and whispered prayers. SHE MADE IT.

The busy highways, the people who didn’t accept her, and the outdoor elements didn’t take her life. THANK GOD she made it, but sadly it is the only life she knows. She is feral. Saturday, was the first day of t he BEST day of her upcoming life.
She makes her rounds and know who is kind to her, and where she knows she will get fed. We don’t know how many liters she has had on the streets but this will be her last. I helped a few concerned business owners who have always worried and cared for her well being change her life this past weekend. She seemed to be looking a place to nest and have her babies. Even giving birth she never had the same, comforting spot. She always had to look over her shoulder in fear (as she still does) to find that perfect spot to keep her babies safe. David D. (he may want to keep silent, although deserves quite the recognition as well as Cindy Smith) have cared for this girl for a long time… and continue today.
She was contained on Saturday evening and yesterday had 7 beautiful babies. ALL HEALTHY and doing well. So is momma. Probably the first time she has felt safe. The first time having babies with food and water available after her exhausting delivery and kindness all around her. She is still a little unsure so we will let her rest, and stay calm before we work with socializing her.
For those who have helped her all these years, and looked for her today because you were on her path of food daily, you won’t see her.
She is safe
She is taking care of her babies
And I am sure she would thank you all for doing the best you could when you saw her walk by.
We have not been too quick to name her. That’s not a priority as her well being is today. I am sure everyone knows her as the Benson Community Dog, so I wanted to reach out and let everyone know she is SAFE. Also animal control has been contacted and we are making sure all the necessary steps are done to make sure she had no owner. WE HAVE TO DO THIS. We will have her on stray hold and make sure she belongs to us after it is all over. She will have a home with her hero Dave. When her babies are old enough we will have them all vetted as well as momma.
There are several ways you can hep. If you would like to sponsor one of our dogs or donate to our community outreach. You can always send your donations to our PayPal pawproject@outlook.com or Venmo@pawproject or visit our Paw Project website
We have more to share about our Community momma. Please let those around know who may not even use Facebook. Benson folk are close community friends, I am sure they will be concerned.
Thank you for following our journey.
